KONTROL terms of service

In short: KONTROL is free to use, and KONTROL Pro is a one-time purchase of $29 with no subscription. A licence covers up to three of your devices. You can have a full refund within 30 days. KONTROL is provided as it is, and you are responsible for using it only on sites you may test.

1. Who we are

KONTROL is made and licensed by Paul Lingwood, trading as KONTROL ("we", "us"). By installing or using KONTROL you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall it. How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy.

2. What you get

• Free: building, testing and debugging scenarios, Once runs, up to three Loops at a time with at least five minutes between runs, the recorder, results and metrics, notifications, phone remote control, the AI features (with your own key) and the visual preview.
• KONTROL Pro: Scheduled runs, Loops more often than every five minutes or more than three at a time, video recording of a run, the Workflow editor and the logic steps (If / Else, While, Break, Stop Loop and Run Scenario) in real runs, as described in KONTROL when you buy.
• Pro is a one-time payment of $29. There is no recurring charge. You may use the licence for as long as KONTROL is available to you; we may change or add features over time.

3. Your licence

• When you buy Pro you get a licence key. It gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Pro features of KONTROL.
• One licence may be used on up to three devices that you own or control. Redeeming it on another device may move it from the device used least recently.
• Do not share, publish or resell your key, and do not copy, rebuild or remove the licence check. Keys that are shared or leaked may be switched off.
• A licence is for your own use, personal or within your organisation, and not to provide KONTROL to others as a service.

4. Refunds

You can ask for a full refund within 30 days of buying, without giving a reason. Ask through the suggestion box in KONTROL, or ask for a refund with the payment provider you paid through. When a payment is refunded, the licence key for that payment stops working.

Nothing in this section limits any right to a refund or remedy that you have by law.

5. Using KONTROL responsibly

• KONTROL operates websites for you. Use it only on sites and services that you own, or that you are allowed to test and automate, and follow their terms and the law.
• You are responsible for the scenarios you build and for what they do, including any purchases, sign-ins or messages they perform on your behalf.
• Do not use KONTROL to attack, overload or disrupt a site, to evade security measures, or for anything unlawful.

6. Third-party services

Some features connect to services we do not run, and only when you turn them on: Anthropic for the AI features, ntfy.sh for phone alerts and commands, any webhook address you give, and a payment provider for checkout.

• The AI features use your own Anthropic key. Each use is a real request on your account, billed to you by Anthropic under Anthropic's terms. We do not see your key or your requests, and we do not charge for them.
• These services have their own terms and policies and we are not responsible for them.

7. No warranty

KONTROL is provided "as is" and "as available". Websites change and checks can fail or pass wrongly, so do not rely on KONTROL alone for anything where a missed or false alert could cause serious harm or loss. We do not promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or suit your purpose.

8. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost data or lost business arising from your use of KONTROL, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the licence. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or the rights you have as a consumer.

9. Ending the licence

You may stop using KONTROL at any time by uninstalling it. We may switch off a licence that has been refunded, charged back, shared or used in breach of these terms. The free features of KONTROL keep working without a licence.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when KONTROL changes. The date above changes with them, and the new terms apply to your use from then on. If a change is material and unfavourable to you, we will tell you in KONTROL.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may also bring a claim in the courts of that country.
